Insurance Policy

Last updated: December 20, 2025

1. Overview

PackagePR.co provides package forwarding and shipping services. This Insurance Policy outlines the terms and conditions regarding insurance coverage for packages handled through our services. Please read this policy carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities regarding package insurance.

Important: PackagePR.co is not liable for lost, damaged, or stolen packages. Insurance coverage is optional and must be requested before package forwarding.

2. No Automatic Coverage

PackagePR.co does not provide automatic insurance coverage for packages. We are not responsible for:

  • Loss of packages during transit to or from our warehouse
  • Damage to packages during handling, storage, or shipping
  • Theft of packages at any stage of the shipping process
  • Delays in package delivery
  • Packages lost or damaged due to carrier errors
  • Any other loss or damage to packages unless specifically covered by purchased insurance

3. Insurance as Optional Add-On Service

Insurance coverage is available as an optional add-on service for an additional fee. To obtain insurance coverage for your package, you must:

  • Contact us before forwarding: You must reach out to PackagePR.co customer service before requesting package forwarding to add insurance coverage
  • Provide package details: You must provide accurate information about your package, including declared value, contents description, and any special handling requirements
  • Pay insurance fees: Insurance fees are separate from shipping fees and must be paid before the package is forwarded
  • Agree to terms: By purchasing insurance, you agree to the terms and conditions of the insurance provider

Critical Requirement: Insurance cannot be added after a package has been forwarded. Once a package has been shipped from our warehouse, it is no longer eligible for insurance coverage.

4. Third-Party Insurance Providers

PackagePR.co facilitates insurance coverage through our shipping service providers, which may include:

  • Independent freight companies
  • Carriers such as UPS and other shipping providers
  • Third-party insurance companies contracted by shipping carriers

PackagePR.co acts solely as a facilitator for insurance services. We do not underwrite insurance policies or determine coverage terms. All insurance policies are issued and administered by third-party providers.

5. Insurance Coverage Limits and Terms

Insurance coverage limits, terms, and pricing vary based on several factors:

  • Package value: The declared value of your package
  • Shipping destination: The country or region where the package will be delivered
  • Shipping method: The selected shipping service (standard, express, etc.)
  • Carrier selection: The shipping carrier or freight company used
  • Package contents: The type and nature of items being shipped
  • Special requirements: Any special handling or delivery requirements

Insurance coverage limits and terms are determined by the insurance provider or shipping carrier, not by PackagePR.co. We will provide you with available insurance options and pricing when you request coverage, but final terms are set by the third-party provider.

6. Claims Process

PackagePR.co is not responsible for insurance claims. All insurance claims must be filed directly with:

  • The insurance company that provided the coverage
  • The shipping carrier (if the carrier provides the insurance)
  • The freight company (if applicable)

PackagePR.co will not:

  • Process insurance claims on your behalf
  • Determine claim eligibility or coverage
  • Make decisions regarding claim payouts
  • Intervene in disputes between you and the insurance provider
  • Be liable for any decisions made by insurance companies or carriers

If you need to file an insurance claim, you must contact the insurance provider or carrier directly. We can provide you with contact information for the insurance provider upon request, but we are not responsible for the outcome of any claims.

7. Exclusions from Coverage

The following items and circumstances are automatically excluded from insurance coverage:

  • Prohibited items: Any items prohibited by law or by PackagePR.co policies, as defined in our Terms of Service, are automatically excluded from insurance coverage regardless of whether insurance was requested
  • Incorrectly declared value: Packages with intentionally or negligently misstated values may be excluded from coverage
  • Pre-existing damage: Damage that existed before the package entered our care
  • Inadequate packaging: Damage resulting from insufficient or improper packaging
  • Consequential damages: Indirect or consequential losses resulting from package loss or damage
  • Items excluded by carrier: Items that are excluded from coverage by the shipping carrier or insurance provider
  • Acts of God: Loss or damage due to natural disasters, war, terrorism, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control (as determined by the insurance provider)

8. Documentation Requirements

To file an insurance claim, you will typically need to provide:

  • Proof of purchase or value documentation for the items in the package
  • Photographs of the damaged package and contents (if applicable)
  • Original packaging materials (if available)
  • Shipping documentation and tracking information
  • Any other documentation required by the insurance provider

Specific documentation requirements vary by insurance provider. You are responsible for providing all required documentation directly to the insurance provider when filing a claim.

9. Time Limits for Claims

Insurance providers typically have specific time limits for filing claims. These time limits vary by provider and are typically:

  • Within 30-90 days of package delivery (for damage claims)
  • Within 30-90 days of expected delivery date (for loss claims)
  • Other timeframes as specified by the insurance provider

It is your responsibility to file claims within the time limits specified by your insurance provider. PackagePR.co is not responsible for claims filed after applicable deadlines.

10. Limitation of Liability

PackagePR.co's liability is limited as follows:

  • We are not liable for any loss or damage to packages unless specifically covered by purchased insurance
  • We are not responsible for insurance claim decisions, denials, or delays
  • We are not liable for the actions or decisions of third-party insurance providers or carriers
  • Our total liability for any claims related to package insurance shall not exceed the amount we received for facilitating the insurance service
